He is nicknamed Pip. Pip’s two most important traits are his immature, romantic idealism and his natural good ，浪漫的理想主义和与生俱来的良知Throughout his childhood, Pip thinks that he is going to be trained as a blacksmith. But after he falls in love with Estella ,he wants to become a gentleman. Finally, he find that status has nothing to do with true love.

She is adopted by Miss Havisham. Estella is Pip’s unattainable dream throughout the film. He loves her passionately. Though she sometimes seems to consider him as a friend, she is usually cold, cruel, and uninterested in him. As they grow up together, she repeatedly warns him that she has no heart.

He is one of Pip’s
friends. He is helpful,

polite. He helps Pip
to be a gentle man .

Mr. Joe Gargery is Pip’s brother-in-low, the village blacksmith. Although he is uneducated , he is kind and friendly to others.
