一、北京城市发展特点(The city development characteristics of Beijing )
地理特点( Geographical Features ):总面积16808平方公里( gross area 16808 square kilometers ),市区面积735平方公里。( downtown area 735 square kilometers )
人口情况:2010年最新统计,实际常驻人口1972万人。北京全市
常驻人口密度为1202人/平方公里,由城区向郊区县
人口分布密度呈逐渐下降趋势。
交通出行:公共交通占全部出行量的40%,其中轨道交通占
公共交通出行比例的37%,机动车已突破500万辆。
2015年目标:公共交通占全部出行量的50%,其
中轨道交通占公共交通出行比例的50%。
人口情况( Population situation)
2010年最新统计,实际常驻人口1972万人。北京全市常驻人口密度为1202人/平方公里,由城区向郊区县人口分布密度呈逐渐下降趋势。

交通出行(transportation )
公共交通占全部出行量的40%,其中轨道交通占公共交通出行比例的37%,机动车已突破500万辆. 2015年目标:公共交通占全部出行量的50%,其中轨道交通占公共交通出行比例的50%.

二、2015年线网规划

(一)2015年线网规划
2007年,编制完成2015年线网规划,提出“三环、四横、五纵、七放射”,19条线路、561公里的线网规划。
By 2015, the Beijing rail transit line will present a" 3 loop lines, 4 transverse, 5 longitudinal, 7radiation“ pattern. When the main service in the City Center District line will reach to 19 line and the mileage will reach to 406km.

(二)2015年加强版线网规划
2011年,编制完成2015年加强版线网规划,新增16号线、海淀山后线、燕房线、8号线三期、二机场线共5条线路长约120公里。
