1. Why did Philadelphia e the 267th World Heritage City ?
Because “the universal principles of freedom and democracy written down in the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution (宪法) (1787)” were both signed at Independence Hall.
2. What are the city’s achievements?
It is the place where US democracy (民主) was born and the first UNESCO World Heritage City in the US.
3. Why is it called the “City of Brotherly Love”?
Because Philadelphia is home to a huge number of ethnic neighborhoods and one of the largest munities in the US. In fact, one of the first gay rights protests in the country happened outside of Independence Hall.
4. Why can we say it is a city without walls?
Because of the graffiti art on the walls.
