Unit 4 Behind beliefs involves a wide coverage of religions from biblical idioms to religious sites, from a religious person—Father Christmas to a special focus on the oldest religious temple in China—the White Horse Temple, based on some beneficial reading and listening materials related to religions, including an article about Biblical idioms in English (P50-P53), another articles about a religious site, The White Horse Temple (P62-P63), and two recording clips about Father Christmas, a legendary person (P58-P61) etc. At last, with the aid of the varied resources, such as textbook, workbook, courseware, the , this unit is to be task-based and unfolded section by section as the following:
In e to the unit, Ss are expected to discuss the religious they have heard of, famous religious places and festivals associated with different religions.
