Abstract:Shake- flask gas- chromatography ( GC) method was utilized to measure water solubilit y ( S w) and n- octanol
w ater partit ion coefficient ( K ow) for benzene, toluene and ethylbenzene respectiv ely. T he results showed that S w and K ow
followed a linear relationship as lnK ow = 0. 455 8 - 0. 917 6lnS w. Additionally , the experimental v alues w ell agreed to
t hat calculated by structure informatio n estimation method ( Irmann method) and molar volume method ( M v method) .
