To learn to use the adverbial clauses of time and to be able to make adverbial clauses with while, when, before, after, until, as soon as etc.

Adverbial Clauses
在复合句中,如果作状语的是一个从句,该从句被称为状语从句。
状语从句可以表示时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果、让步、比较和方式等。
用从句来表达一件事情或一个行为发生的时间,这个从句就叫做时间状语从句。
when引导的时间状语从句:
when既可指某时间点发生的事,也可指某时间段发生的事;从句中既可用持续性动词,也可用非持续性动词;主句与从句的动作既可以是同时发生,也可以是先后发生。
When the weather is fine, many people go out for a walk.
时间状语从句常用引导词
while引导的时间状语从句:
while 强调主句的行为是在从句动作进行
的过程中发生的;从句中要用持续性动词。
Do not make any noise while I am recording.
We must strike while the iron is hot.
as引导的时间状语从句:
as侧重于表示主句和从句的动作同时发生
或者一个动作随着另一个动作的发生而发生。
As she walked along the street, she sang happily.
