Demonstration is made of the con tin ued v alidit y of the single pro cessor approac h and of the

eaknesses of the m ultiple pro cessor approac h in terms of application to real problems and their
attendan t irregularities

o v er the last decade and up on the op erational requiremen ts within problems of ph ysical in terest
