1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for the hood latch system of the engine equipped
forward of the windshield or of the front partment of the rear-mounted engine
vehicle.
This standard applies to vehicles of categories M and N.
2 Definitions
For the purposes of this standard:
Hood
Means any exterior movable body panel forward of the windshield that is used to cover an
engine, luggage, partment.
Hood latch system
Means a system which can maintain latching state between the hood and the vehicle body
and can be opened.
