ABSTRACT – Award winning case studies have been developed by the Laboratory for Innovative Technology and Engineering Education (LITEE) at Auburn University.  Several of these case studies have a strong design/design ponent embedded within the problem.  essful applications of these case studies in the classrooms exist and NSF funding has been acquired for promotion of the methodology. This paper presents an array of case studies that should be of interest to EDGD educators. Case studies have the potential to provide authentic learning experiences and design methodologies such as solid modeling and animation e more interesting to use when applied in practical problem solving.
I. INTRODUCTION
Engineering graphics educators have always focused on meeting existing and future needs of industry when designing the content domain and planning instructional methods in their discipline. Skill in basic engineering graphics is a core requirement in virtually all engineering and technology disciplines. CAD-based solid models of parts and assemblies have e either the star
