Comparison of Tannin Contents in Different Varieties of Stylosanthes

Abstract The tannin contents of 10 varieties of Stylosanthes in nutritional periods were determined using
F-D method. The results showed that the tannin contents of all the 10 varieties of Stylosanthes were less
than 1%. The tannin concentration of 907 Stylosanthes spp. was %, which was the highest among the
10 varieties. The tannin concentration of CIAT11362 Stylosanthes spp. was %, which was the lowest
among the 10 varieties. This experiment data provide reference for Stylosanthes-based feed formula.
