This paper, which concludes my three years‟ postgraduate study at the School of
Foreign Studies of Anhui University, could not have pleted without generous
assistance and help from my supervisor, my teachers, my classmates and my family
members. And as for the faults and limitations found in this paper, the author alone
will be responsible for them.
First and foremost, my deepest appreciation should go to my supervisor,
Professor Zhang Ming, who has offered valuable guidance and advice throughout the
writing of this paper. He has read carefully every draft of my paper and given me
helpful instructions and enlightenment, without which the paper would not be
presented in this form.
Besides, my heart-felt respect and gratitude is also extended to Professor Zhu
Yue, Professor Zhou Fangzhu, Professor Zhu Xiaomei, Doctor Hu Jian, Doctor Zhang
Hongxia, Doctor Yang Ling, and all the other teachers who have taught me at the
School of Foreign Studies of Anhui University. With the help of their enlightening and
thought-provoking lectures, I have embarked upon a brand-new undertaking of
intellectual and academic growth. Moreover, their sense of responsibility as teachers
has deeply impressed me and will exert a permanent influence on my future teaching
career.
Apart from this, I also owe my debt to the librarians of Anhui University of
Science and Technology, especially the helpful and friendly librarians who work in
the social science reading room where I have collected my data.
And last but not least, I am indebted to my wife for her consistent support and
encour
