ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
It is my pleasure to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped me directly
or indirectly pleting this work. First and foremost, I wish to thank my thesis
advisor Dr. Daniel Fisher. His optimism and friendly nature helped me learn a lot during
my graduate study. I have benefited a lot form your technical expertise and your advice
has taught me how to approach a research problem.
My sincere appreciation also goes my mittee member Dr. Jeffrey
Spitler who helped me at difficult situations during my masters work. I was greatly
benefited by the coursework with you and from discussions I had with you. I would also
like to thank Dr. David Lilley for agreeing to be my mittee member.
As is true with any other study in academic environment, my work was also
greatly influenced by my colleagues and friends and I am thankful to all of them. My
special thanks go to Arun, Haider and my roommates who made critical remarks. I am
also thankful to Linda Lawrie of DoD Construction Engineering Research Lab, for
helping me pleting multi-year simulation work.
My graduate study at OSU would not have been possible if not for the love and
support of my family. I dedicate this thesis to my parents Sri. K
