SKYBUS Autonomous Lighter-Than-Air Unmanned Aerial System
Rising to the Challenge of Persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR)
Unmanned aerial systems (UASs) have proven their worth as surveillance and
reconnaissance assets, but have difficulty providing persistent presence. SAIC’s SKYBUS
UAS airships solve this limitation by employing the constant lift of lighter-than-air (LTA)
gas. SKYBUS airships are autonomous UASs that can carry a wide variety of sensors and
equipment, supporting the entire spectrum of security and intelligence applications.
SKYBUS airships:
• Are low-cost airborne platforms for long endurance missions
• Can operate at altitudes ranging from 1,000 ft, up to 15,000 ft
• Can carry payloads ranging from 200 to 4,000 pounds
• Are available in several sizes: 30,000, 80,000, 150,000, or 200,000 cubic feet
• Can self deploy, and loiter over areas of interest for 24 hours to several days
• Can be operated from confined, unimproved, or forward located sites
SKYBUS UAS • Can hover for tens of hours, or fly at top speeds between 50 and 75 knots
Loginn Kapitan • Feature a resilient, damage-tolerant airframe and gas envelope
• Have low noise, thermal, and radar signatures A
