Preface
This book is the third of a series of four volumes devoted to the scattering of
light by solids (Raman and Brillouin spectroscopy and related phenomena). The
first volume appeared in 1975 as Vol. 8 of the springer series "Topics in Applied
Physics." It contains a inct description of the general principles of
spontaneous and stimulated light scattering by solid
