Acknowledgements

First and foremost, my heartfelt gratitude and appreciations go to my supervisor
Dr. Zhang Hongxia, who has not only initially encouraged me to work on this topic,
but also provided me with ments and suggestions throughout my thesis
writing. Without her enlightening suggestions and careful revision, this thesis would
not have pleted.
My sincere gratitude also goes to all my teachers in the School of Foreign
Studies of Anhui University, particularly to Prof. Zhu Yue, Dr. Zhu Xiaomei, Dr. Hu
Jian, Prof. Zhou Fangzhu, Prof. Zhang Ming and Dr. Yang Ling whose excellent
lectures and inspiring ideas have benefited me a lot.
In addition, I am sincerely grateful to the teachers and students who participated
in the research presented in this dissertation and offered their kind cooperation and
support during the phase of data collection.
Special thanks go to my friends Cheng Fen and Chen Kui, who have given me
instructive advice and discussed with me about the thesis with great patience; to
Huang Chao and Sun Bo, who have carefully proofread this thesis and offered
valuable suggestions; to Wang Yan, who has shared a lot with me during thesis
writing. But for their constant encouragement and valuable suggestions during my
thesis writing and in my academic study, this thesis would never be a reality.
Last but not least, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my parents, who
have given me endless moral and material support; and my boy friend, whose support
and encouragement have been unfailing even at the most difficult moment.
