In many countries, the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. Does this trend have more positive or negative effects on society?

Nowadays, an increasing number of people are concerned about the aging population. However, whether the population aging makes a positive influence or a negative impact has caused heated debate. As to this topic, I mainly agree with the latter view for the following reasons. First, it is obvious that the increasing share of aging population has become an emergency problem for sustainable economy development. As we all know, workforce is an essential part of industries, such as the house construction and manufacture. This means that government will be confronted with extra heavy economic burden brought by labour shortage. Therefore, it is necessary to find a decent solution to cope with this upset situation.
