Made the following preliminary results. characteristics of Hyphantria cunea. characteristics of emergence and life history of Hyphantria cunea was systematic surveyed and found that fall webworm occurs three generations each year in Dongying area, two full generations, part of the 3rd generation. The generation of the instars interchangeably, irregular development, the first 2, 3 on behalf of the generations overlap. Summarized the life cycle of Hyphantria cunea in the Dongying cunea hazard tree tree species wew damaged by Hyphantria cunea in the Dongying area, of them mulberry, ash, locust, poplar, willow (Salix babylonica L.) 5 species is seriously damaged. but Hyphantria cunea didn’t feed off Neem tree, cypress (Juniperus chinensis cv. Kaizuka), Ligustrum (Ligustrun lucidum Ait), etc. cunea predators of Hyphantria cunea few natural enemies in the Dongying area, natural control in the fall webworm play a smaller role, can not effectively control Hyphantria cunea.
