What is a metal ?
What is a ceramic ? — Natural & synthetic rock: hard, brittle & heat-resistant
What is a polymer ? — The word polymer literally means "many parts" Better know as “plastics” by general public
The great majority of elements in the periodic table are metals.
A metal has a particular type of bonding known as metallic
bonding (as distinct from ionic bonding and covalent bonding).
Metals tend to be ductile strong shiny materials that corrode easily
What is a composite material ? — An engineering material which consists of more than one material type
