Because of the thermal stability, the strong oxidative ability and no easy deliquescence, it can oxide many organic compounds such as alkane, alkene, alcohol, etc.. Many chemists have demonstrated that different products are obtained under all kinds of condition.
In this section, after investgating many literatures, we reviewed the application in organic reaction of KMnO4 in detail. Recently, PTC reaction is a popular interest, which contains the property of improved rate and yield of the reaction, so it is of great value in organic synthesis.

Chapter 2; Synthesis of 4,7,- dichlorine -5 (and 6) - carboxylic acid Rhodamine bright fluorescent dye
4,7-dichlo-5- carboxylic acid Rhodamine is a kind of bright flurescent using xanthene as scaffold, whose aryl-H was substituted with a variety of groups. Compared with any other rhodamine, they can increase or decrese emissive absorbance in most limitation. Therfore, they are widely applied to marking DNA and protein molecular acting as staining material to isolate and order DNA and protein in biology and medicine.
According to Cook’s method, we attempted to synthesize 1-(2,5-dichloro-3,6-dimethy- lphenyl)ethanoneas as a key intermediate, followed by oxidation with KMnO4 to obtain 3,6-dichlorobenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid charicterized by NMR and MS. Finaly, cook’s results can not be reproduced. The synthetic methods of 3,6-dichlorobenzene- 1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid is being probed in our group.

引 言
KMnO4具有很强的氧化性,热稳定性好,不易潮解,它对各种可以被氧化的基团都能进行氧化,因此在有机合成中有着很重要的作用。它与有机物之间的反应是一类比较复杂的氧化还原反应。现就KMnO4氧化在有机合成中的应用综述如下:
