Since its foundation 15 years ago , Tsinghua University Press has made promi
nent plishments and acquired distinctive characteristic of its own as a univer
sity press in facilitating teaching and research work, improving the quality of teach
ing activities of Tsinghua University , providing excellent textbooks for other universi
ties nationwide and publishing learned works, promoting the transformation of
achievements in scientific research into productive forces and the dissemination of
scientific knowledge . Tsinghua University Press has made positive contributions to
the construction and development of Tsinghua University through its substantial ef
forts . All this proves that the guiding principles and general direction to which Ts
inghua University Press has adhered are correct .
As a vital national base of education and scientific research, Tsinghua Universi
ty shoulders significant responsibility in China’s national cause of education, science
