关于海登•怀特新历史主义的理论述评
中文摘要
海登·怀特是美国哲学界新历史主义的代表人物,着重研究历史哲学与诗
学、叙事学的关系,试图取消文学与历史学之间的隔阂,用解构主义、后形式
主义的方法,以历史文本必须通过历史事实转义产生为切入点,从叙事话语层
面深入到深层的诗性方面,为历史哲学的批评开辟了新的方向。本文对怀特理
论产生的社会背景和理论背景进行了考察,在此基础上阐述了怀特的喻说理论、
叙事理论和话语转义的学说的基本特点,并对新历史主义的理论特征进行了简
要评价。

Abstract
Hayden White, a representative of the New Historicism in Americian Philosophy
Academia, focused on the relationship between history philosophy, poetics, and
narrative theory, and tried to fill the gap between literature and history. By using the
metholds of deconstruction and post-formalism, he found a new direction for the
criticism of philosophy of history from the narrative discourse level to the deep poetic
aspect, pointing out that historical text must root in the historical facts. This paper
firstly analyzes the social and theoretical background of White’s theory, then clarifies
the essentials of tropology, narrative theory and discourse theory on the basis of
White’s theory. Lastly, the writer makes a ments on the theoricial
charicteristic of the New Historicism.
