Introduction
This module will cover the following topics:
What is a project?
What are the characteristics of a project?
What is project management?
Why is project management important?
What is the project life cycle?
What is a project?
A project is anization unit which consists of a set of
resources temporarily assembled to reach a specific goal,
within a fixed budget and a fixed time frame. A project is
done one time only, and has a specific beginning, end, and a deliverable.
一个项目包括明确的开始和结束,具有定义清楚的目标,由一系列有序连贯的活动组成.
而例行工作则是持续进行的, 可重复的, 并且是基于过程的.
Examples:
Designing a new mobile phone for middle school students
to be introduced to marketplace by December 2002.

To determine if this is a project, we need to answer the following questions:
Does it have a specific starting and ending point?
Does it have a well-defined goal?
Does it occur only one time?
Does it contain cost and time schedules?
Does it produce a specific result?
