Background 
Gynecologic cancer in Denmark
• From 52 gynecologic departments to five in 20 
years
•> 5 years since we operated advanced cancer at 
Hvidovre Hospital
• The following treatment plan is grounded in the 
guidelines for gynecologic cancers in Denmark 
and through diskussions with Gynecologist and Dr
of Science Lene Lundvall, Lian Ulrik and Jan

Endometrial cancer
Incidens of endometrial cancer 
in Denmark (5 mill inhabitants))
• 600 new cases pr year in DK (unchanged last 20 
years)
• Incidens has doubled from 1943 to 1980
• The 6. mon cancer 
• Incidens: 13 out of 
• Five years survival
– STAGE I: >90 %
– Stage II: 60%
– Stage III: 40%

Risk factors
• Continous bination therapy
reduces the risk
• Sequential bination therapy
oestrogen/gestagen or Tamoxifen, elevats the 
risk of endometrial cancer
• Adipositas, PCO, Diabetes Mellitus

• CIS – compex hyperplasia with atypia
– 17‐52% of all ec
• Endometrial Adenocarcinoma
– 89%

• Hyperplasia witout atypia is not cancer,
