With anticipation and excitement, the present paper concludes my three years‟
postgraduate study in the School of Foreign Studies of Anhui University. This paper owes
a great deal to support and encouragement from my teachers, families and friends.
First of all, my sincere gratitude extends to my supervisor, Associate Professor Zhan
Quanwang, since this . thesis is plished under his enlightenment and
inspiration. I extremely appreciate his profound learning and conscientious working
attitudes, with which he has constantly offered me suggestion through discussions, made
a detailed review of the versions of the draft of this thesis, and proposed advice and
criticism for further improvement.
My profound thanks must also go to the other teachers of my postgraduate courses
during my study in the School of Foreign Studies of Anhui University: Professor Zhu Yue,
Professor Zhou Fangzhu, Professor Zhu Xiaomei, Professor Zhang Ming, Associate
Professor Hu Jian, Zhang Hongxia and Yang Ling. Their earnest teaching has influenced
my perception of linguistics and, more specifically, my way to do research.
Last but not least, I am grateful to my classmates and friends for their support and
