明代戏曲中的僧尼形象是明代文学作品里较为特殊的一类。明代初期的僧尼
形象大多还是一些充满了神佛色彩的高僧大德,形象单一、呆板;而到了明代中
后期出现的一些淫恶僧尼、为情僧尼等形象,他们与人们眼中传统的高尚的僧尼
形象大相径庭,他们与封建传统的道德社会格格不入,他们让曾经沉寂的单一的
明代戏曲形象开始变得生动、丰满。本篇论文就试着对明代戏曲中的僧尼形象类
型作一梳理,对明代戏曲中的僧尼形象产生的政治文化背景、文化内涵和审美价
值以及明代文人士大夫与明代佛教进行探讨。
本文分为以下三章加以论述:
第一章:明代戏曲中的僧尼形象统计及类型。本章将对明代戏曲中的僧尼形
象作一系统的统计,并从坚守佛训的僧尼和违背佛训的僧尼的两个方面对整个明
代戏曲中僧尼形象的大致情况作详细地论述。
第二章:明代戏曲中的僧尼形象衍变。本章将从明初戏曲中的僧尼形象与明
代中后期的僧尼形象两节进行论述,对明代戏曲中的僧尼形象从明初上承元代下
承明中后期的衍变作进一步地探讨,并对这些僧尼形象所产生的社会背景进行简
单概述。
第三章:明代戏曲中僧尼形象出现的政治文化背景、文化内涵及审美价值。
本章将在第一、二章统计与分类的基础上,浓墨重彩地对明代戏曲中僧尼形象所
产生的政治文化原因以及这些形象所体现出来的文化内涵及审美价值作深层次
的挖掘论述。

Abstract
The images of monk and nun in the drama of Ming dynasty are
special and typical in the literature works of this period. In the early stage
of Ming dynasty, the images of monk and nun in the drama are of dignity
and of morality, meanwhile they are simple and dull. But in the middle
and late stages of Ming dynasty, the images change into bawdy and
riotous, which are different from the traditional noble images and against
the social morality, but they enrich and activate the single and dull images
in the drama of Ming dynasty. This paper tries to sort the different types
of images in the drama of Ming dynasty and makes a discussion of the
political and cultural background, the notion and value of the culture,
from which the images are created.
This paper is divided into three sections for discussion:
Chapter One: Buddhist monks and nuns in the Ming Dynasty opera
statistics and the type of image. We will make a statistics on the image of
Buddhist monks and nuns in the Ming Dynasty opera , and make a further
study on the Buddhist monks and nuns from two is on
Respecting Buddhist teachings,the secand is on violating the Buddhist
teachings.
Chapter Two: The Evolution of the image of Buddhist monks and
nuns in the Ming Dynasty opera. It`s divided into two parts to make a
