I was in New Zealand from July 2000 to July 2001. I 1 there with a host family, and Norm was my host dad. You have to keep in mind the New Zealand is a very 2 country. People have only been there for three to five generations. Norm is a third-generation farmer, as most of the people in New Zealand are.
Even though Norm was a farmer, he is a person with much 3 about life. He has figured out that there probably isn’t a great 4 in farming and he couldn’t lead a good life as a farmer, or maybe he has been farming for too long. While I was there, he made a 5 from farming to being a financial adviser.
Norm has 6 himself about finance over the last 25 year. He’s learnt much. He not only learns for himself, but he’s been teaching what he calls financial intelligence to his kids, too. He has been helping them 7 a job which isn’t only nice to have but also makes enough money.
What 8 me about Norm is that he’s so 9 about the world. He moved from being a farmer to doing a totally 10 job to have a promising future. I want to be like Norm. He is not holding on to something which was very nice in the past, is still nice now, but would probably be full of 11 and cause him much trouble later on. What I have learned from Norm is the 12 of the mind.
