基于建构主义理论的商务英语教学探索

摘要

建构主义认为知识是人类对客观世界的一种解释假设或假说它不能绝对无误地概
括世界的法则提供对任何活动或问题解决都实用的方法因此知识具有如下特点知
识是基于经历的意义构建知识镶嵌于具体的历史情境知识具有工具性或适应性基于
以上知识观建构主义者提出以学生为主体教师为主导的教学模式指出情
境协作会话和意义建构是学习环境的四大要素
建构主义理论指导下的商务英语比较典型地体现出应用知识的情境化地方化和工具
化特征本文认为商务英语的知识建构存在如下几个转型
(1)从普遍知识到情境知识的转型
(2)从中立性知识到价值性知识的转型
(3)从学术知识到应用知识的转型
(4)从良性结构知识到非良性结构知识的转型
知识的转型引发相关的教学转型如学科定位的转型教学模式的转型教材转型
等
建构主义教学理论有助于学生完成以上转型本文认为建构主义模式下的商务英语教
学应包括以下内容
(1)复合型商务英语人才需要掌握四种知识能力扎实的英语语言基础宽广的商务
英语知识实践能力,本土化的商务英语知识
(2)商务英语教学应采用三阶模式第一阶段采用传统的客观知识传授模式培养学生
的英语语言能力;第二阶段通过构建商务英语情境来培养学生的商务英语应用能力;
第三阶段通过构建实践环境来培养学生的本土化商务英语能力
(3)培养雄厚的商务英语教师资源首先要建构教师复合型的知识结构并使其不断完善
和提高其次要不断更新教师自身的教学理念最后要鼓励教师从事跨学科研究来
提供商务英语智力资源

Business English Knowledge Construction:
A Constructivist Exploration of Business English Teaching

Abstract

Constructivists hold the view that knowledge is a hypothesis or an explanation of the real
world, it can’t exactly reflect the real world and it can’t be the ultimate knowledge fit for all
situations. There are three features in constructivist view of knowledge: knowledge is the meaning
construction based on the experience; knowledge is embedded in specific contexts and knowledge
is instrumental or goal-directed. Based on the above view of knowledge, constructivists propose a
“learner-centered and teacher-guided” model, pointing that “context”, “collaboration”, “dialogue”
and “meaning construction” are the key elements of learning environment.
It is believed that Business English typically embodies localized, contextualized and
instrumental properties of practical knowledge under the guidance of constructivism. The thesis
presents that there are several knowledge transformations in Business English teaching:
