Lean improvement on Productivity
Hoshin is a rigorous method to seek for manufacturing productivity improvements.
The technical departments are usually working on optimizing the standard working cycles.
However the operators can’t work without interruptions all their shift.
To see those interruptions it’s not easy, we need a rigorous method.
Hoshin is a way to analyse the cycles times variability, with the involvement of the operators who know it better than no one else.
Reducing variability is always quicker and cheaper than optimizing standard working cycle.
4 way for labor productivity
Product or process technical modifications
Investment, lead time, expertise, ramp up cost, customer approval
Muda hunting / Red-Green analysis
