Three Acts A story arc, if written well, generally contains three acts. In the fi rst act, the goal
is defi ned and obstacles or problems are discovered that inhibit that goal. In the second
act, the path to that goal plicated and threatened. In the third act, the goal is
completed or advanced, the problem is faced and possibly resolved, and the plot moves
toward the next story arc.
Technology An important element in many sci-fi and modern-day manga, technology is
generally highly detailed and stands in contrast to the relatively simple human fi gures.

is often more important to be consistent than be realistic.
