Backgrouds
Legal education in the United States is the so-called post-college education. In other words, students in law schools are already college graduates, that’s the basic requirement for enrollment to a law school.
Three sorts of law degrees: Juris Doctor (JD), which is similar to the bachelor degree of law in China; Master of laws(LLM) (for those who have got JD or foregners who have got a law degree in their own countries); Doctor of Juridical Science(SJD) ( for those who have had LLM or JD).

Backgrouds
JD education is the fundation of the American law school, and the curriculum is centred on JD education. The first year courses are mainly required courses such as contract law, tort law, property law, criminal law, civil procedure and legal writing etc; the second and third year courses are selected courses.
LLM and SJD are generally called postgraduates, but there is no special courses for them, so they often take lectures with JD in the same class.
