摘要

随着英语社会功能的转变,以及跨文化交际学作为一门独立学科的建立,
当前英语教学的目标已经转变成培养能够跨文化交际的人才。英语学习者的跨
文化交际能力已成为继听,说,读,写后英语学习的第五大目标。对于中国的英语
学习者来说,用英语进行文化交流不仅仅要求对语言本身有良好的驾驭,而且用
英语表达中国文化的能力不应被忽视。
本篇论文主要讨论了目前中国文化教育在英语教学中的状况,着重研究以
下几个问题:

本篇论文就英语学习者用英语阐释中华文化的能力进行了系统的问卷调
查,调查对象同时包括英语专业学生和教师。从调查数据的统计和分析结果来
看,目前英语学习者的中华文化知识普遍较为缺乏,不能用英语较好地表达中
国文化。但同时,教师和学生都对在外语教学中出现更多地有关中华文化内容
持积极态度。由此可见,造成目前英语教学中中国文化的缺失主要来自于各种
客观因素,如不合适的教材选编、信息资源匮乏以及中国文化在教学大纲中的
模糊定位等等。
针对上述分析,笔者从理论和实践上提出了若干在中国文化教学中有待进
一步研究和发掘之处.

Abstract

With the change of the role of English, and the establishment of intercultural
communication as an independent subject, the goal of the current English teaching is
to cultivate an intercultural person rather than a native speaker. Learners’
petence is considered as the fifth objective of
language learning and be put into the important place. In order municate with
foreigners in English, the mand of English is not enough for Chinese
people; petence to express Chinese culture in English should be also taken
into consideration.
This thesis tends to discuss the current situation of culture teaching in China’s
colleges and universities and the integration of Chinese culture into English teaching.
It proposes to address the following questions:
1. What is the overall picture of English majors’ knowledge about Chinese
culture?
2. What are teachers and students’ perceptions on expressiveness of Chinese
culture in English?
3. Are the English majors capable to present Chinese culture in English?
