英语专业课堂上的教师语码转换研究

摘要
本文以 Myers-Scotton 的主题语言框架理论和韩礼德的纯理功能理论为理论
基础,分析了英语专业课堂上出现的语码转换的语言结构特征与功能。
本研究主要采用课堂录音的方式收集了沈阳师范大学外国语学院六位英语
教师课堂上的教学录音,对它们进行了转码,然后对其中包含的语码转换现象进
行了分析。通过分析作者发现教师的语码转换中,英语是主要嵌入语,汉语也在
少部分情况中作为嵌入语出现;转换类型既有句内语码转换也有句间语码转换,
句内语码转换是主要转换类型;句内语码转换可分为以英语作为嵌入语和以汉语
作为嵌入语两种类型:在以英语作为嵌入语的语码转换中,单词的转换比例略高
于短语,名词及名词性词组的转换比例最高;在以汉语作为嵌入语的语码转换中,
短语的转换比例略高于单词。通过对嵌入成分的形态和句法特征的分析,作者发
现嵌入成分的结构特点符合主体语的语法要求,这一现象可以用 Myers-Scotton
的主题语言框架理论来解释。在功能方面,基于韩礼德的纯理功能理论,教师的
语码转换主要有三种纯理功能,即概念功能,人际功能和语篇功能。这三种纯理
功能又分别通过一些具体的功能来实现。
通过本研究作者试图消除教师对语码转换的误解,帮助他们了解语码转换的
本质,从而更加有效地应用这一语言教学策略。

Abstract
The study has investigated the structure features and functions of teachers’
code-switching (CS) in EFL classes. The structure features of CS are analyzed based
on the Matrix Language Frame Model (MLF Model) proposed by Myers-Scotton
(1993) and the functions of teachers’ CS are discussed based on Halliday’s
Metafunction Theory (1978).
In the study, the subjects are six teachers from English department of Shenyang
Normal University. Their classroom teaching was audio-recorded and then transcribed
as the data for the study of code switching in EFL classroom. The results show that
English is the main embedded language, and in few instances, Chinese is also used as
the embedded language. In terms of switching types, there are both intra-sentential CS
and inter-sentential CS with instances of intra-sentential CS being domimant. The
intra-sentential CS can be classified into two types: the intra-sentential CS with
English as embedded language and those with Chinese as embedded language.
Among the instances of the former one, the occurrence rate of words is a little higher
than that of EL islands. Among the instances of the latter one, the occurrence rate of
