Western Food is the general designation given by the Chinese and people of other eastern countries to the food of European and American countries. The West usually refers to the European countries and the large areas of America and Australia which posed of immigrants from the European countries. The westerners have no clear definition of “Western Food”, but it is that of the easterners’.
Introduction
Western food can be grouped into: French food,British food, Italian food, American food and Russian food, ect. The main characteristics are: of outstanding main materials, good-looking, delicious, nutritious and easy- supplied. Different countries have different eating customs. There is vivid description which shows the features of the different cultures of various kinds of the western food, that is: the French are eating while praising the skill of chef; the British are eating with etiquette; the Germany are paying attention to the nutrition; the Italian like to be filled with joy while eating…..
Generally, the lunch or supper of Western food consists of the following:
→2. soup→3. main dish (meat/fish)→ (ice-cream/pudding)→5. drink(coffee/tea)→(6. fruit),
while Chinese food have another look:
1. cold dishes→2. drinks→ courses: meat/fried vegetables/fish→4. soup→5. rice/pastry→(6. fruit)
