When municate with others,we make ourselves understood not only by words. Words are just one part munication. We send messages to others also by our expressions and body movement. Some studies show that up to 90 percent munication is nonverbal. Though we might say one thing, our body movements may indicate something entirely different. All types of language that take place without words are defined as nonverbal language. It is an important part of munication and it is closely related to culture. Some scholars treat kinesics or body language as an equivalent to munication.
Negotiation is a kind munication, which involves both verbal and munication. It is regarded as a process of dealing with problems and conflicts through discussions among individuals who are connecting with each other and with the same purpose e together to make decisions or to take measures.
Intercultural business negotiation is defined as negotiations that occur between parties from different cultures concerning business affairs, and business negotiators’ distinct thinking munication style and cultural difference always add the difficulty of the negotiation process. Intercultural business negotiation is regarded as a vital economic event in international trade, which is a necessary approach to coordinate and solve the problems among various countries, local government and business institutes.
With the economic globalization and the frequent business contacts,cultural differences seem to be very important in business negotiation; otherwise they could cause unnecessary misunderstanding, even affect the result of the business negotiations. This means it is very important to know the different cultures in different countries and the ways to avoid the culture conflicts in the international business negotiations.
