Abstract—Arthrobacter simplex is extensively used in C1-C2 position of A-ring has been found in several bacteria,
pharmaceutical industry to introduce C1-C2 double bond into including A. simplex [11], Pseudomonas spp [7], Nocardia
steroid nucleus. This dehydrogenation reaction is known restrictus [13], Nocardia coralline [5] , Nocardia opaca [4],
characterized by its 3-ketosteroid-△1-dehydrogenase(KSDH), Mycobacterium fortuitum [18], and us erythropolis
which is encoded by ksdD gene. In this research, we report the IMET7030 [6]. In addition, the enzymes catalyzing the
expression of KSDH in Escherichia coli. The activity of the formation double bond of some sterols in C1-C2 position of
enzyme has been determined by spectrophotometric method. A-ring has been identified in some anisms [1, 9, 10]
We found the activity of purified enzyme was about 5 fold A. simplex, a gram-positive bacterium, is extensively used in
more than the crude enzyme of cell extract. Addit
