Course Goals: This course is designed to provide an introduction and overview of Human Resource Management as a discipline of a profession. Since this course visibly and continuously highlights the importance of HRM and its potential contribution to a firm’petitive advantage, emphasis are placed on the core areas of Human resources such as staffing, compensation, motivation, human resource development, etc. Major themes of the presentation are the partnership of human resource and line functions in the management of people and the strategic importance of human resources to the firm. Through case studies and lectures, students can get both operational skills and strategic thinking abilities of HRM.
