1970年,丰田公司成功地把重达800吨的机罩用冲压机的作业转换时间缩短到了三分钟。在丰田公司把这称为单一作业转换。即“个位数(小于10)分钟内换型”(Single Minute Exchange of Dies),也就是常讲的SMED。
The exchange time which is the punch pressed the cover about 800 tons was reduced to three minutes by Toyota in 1970. This is the single part exchange and it is Single Minute Exchange of Die, also it is said SMED.
现在,许多时候已将其缩短到了一分钟以内。这就是“快餐式”作业转换。在欧美的公司,这种作业转换时间需要几小时到甚至整整一天时间。
Today, some exchange is reduced to one minute in many moment. This is the work exchange as fast food. This exchange time need several hours and indeed whole day long

为了在低库存的情况下, 为及时满足客户的需求,需要多次换型
In order to reduce the inventory and meet customer’s requirement, we should exchange time and again
换型次数的增加, 会使设备停顿增加, 产能下降,完不成生产任务
More and more exchange times should improve the pause times, keep the output down, so as not to achieve the production assignment
所以, 降低更换时间实际是潜在增加产能!
So reducing changing time is to improve the potential output actually

赛车来到:当工程师通知说修理站一切都已准备好后,车手就来到修理站,正好停在快速千斤顶的前面。

更换轮胎:当前后千斤顶升起时,车手一直踩着制动踏板。此时将原来的车轮拆下,再换上新车轮。
Changing tires: The car is braked and jacked when old tires are replaced with new ones.
加油:将加压的燃料以每秒9升的速度注入油箱后,轮胎已经换好,赛车已放回到地面上。
Filling: Pre-pressured fuel will be filled into tank at 9liter/s. After finishing the filling process, meanwhile the tires will also be changed, the car will be set down.
